About Desco

Meet Ahmed, the founder of Desco. Graduating from a Masters and Bachelors of Architecture at the University of Technology Sydney, and a Diploma in Architectural Technology.

Ahmed started out in the hospitality sector, joining a hospitality design and construct company during his studies, he worked in a support role on a range of hospitality projects completing full cycle projects from conceptual design to construction completion.

Having acquired comprehensive experience in design and construction for fit-out projects it progressed his experience in undertaking further projects in retail and hospitality fit-outs solely. These projects involved the start to finish processes in multiple cafes from an architectural perspective and project management perspective.

Working to comply with strict fit-out guidelines provided by multiple site operators such as Westfield’s and Lendlease, gave him exposure to how a tenancy fit-out is to integrate with a base building under the control by others.  This also provided a significant amount of experience in dealing with multiple parties to produce an outcome that were approved in multiple stages. These included design approvals, base build completion deadlines, fit-out guild line approvals, time constraints, practical completion deadlines, and completing tenancies that are up to standard by the governing authorities.

He enjoys working in a collaborative environment and engaging with various clients / stakeholders to further gain an insight to the profession. Ahmed has proficiencies in computer programmes such as Microsoft word, and design and editing programs such as Adobe suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign. The ability to use Various 3d modelling software’s such as Archicad and Rhino has come through his university education and real-world projects.
